About Me

Hi! I'm Maranda Brown and I'm from Cranford, New Jersey. To some I'm known as panda because if you could not tell I'm mixed and it's easier to just say panda for all my younger cousins. To others, that I have convinced, I'm Queen. I made the nickname for myself not because I am stuck up but because I love the idea of royalty lifestyle and also how is anyone going to treat you with respect if you do not value yourself and have higher expectations to accomplish things in life? I've also had many nicknames throughout my life when I played basketball from fifth to tenth grade and on my school track team where I was a discus thrower for three years. I plan to leave these nicknames behind and start fresh and see what people in my new surrounding really think of me.

I have yet to find my passion in life, but hopefully I will very and forever pursuit it. In my free time I spend a lot of time with my grandparents and friends. My grandparents are the reason I am the person I am today. I will also be honest I spend a lot of time on social media sites like Instagram, Twitter, tumblr, and snapchat. I find that I read a lot of interest things and helpful ideas on these sites about things going on in the world.

I am pretty mutual to all music. I like a little bit of everything ranging from Taylor Swift to Justin Bieber to Luke Bryant and many more. My favorite artists and groups include Beyonce, J Cole, Drake and the temptations. My two absolute favorite songs are 'You' by Cam Meekins and 'Steven' by Jake Miller because they talk about young adults that think suicide is the only way out of bad situations and they both really just speak to me.

I do not see myself as a great writer. Usually maybe a B student depending on how important of a topic it is to me. I love writing opinionated papers and to know that the reader is interested on how I truly feel about something. Sometimes I plan my essays out sometimes I don't because it really depends on what I feel needs to be said and how it needs go be formatted. In high school we used the five paragraph structure to get the introduction in, our three points and our closing. When writing papers I always had someone revise my essays and then I would too. I like others input on my papers because it helps me see how I can improve and others points of view.

This semester is very important for me because it will set the tone of how everything else will go for me in college. This is the time to take chances with people and in the classroom and with my writing and ideas. It is important for me to ask questions and ask for the help instead of stressing and then falling behind. I plan to keep my head on straight and good grades to make my family proud especially on my moms side since I am the first to go to college for them.
